Scotty Cameron Putters Buying Guide
The Scotty Cameron Family of Putters Are Designed to PerformBehind every great putter, blade or mallet, is a designer, someone who loves the game and is passionate about producing sticks that bring pleasure and performance to every round. Today, names like Karsten, Rife, and Cameron are revered. Their putters take residence in the bags of some of the game’s biggest names. And when the final putt drops into the 18th hole on Sunday, and the putter is raised in triumph, their inscribed names are often held aloft in celebration.
Oh, and that’s not to say their names haven’t been flung to the bottom of a pond from time to time, too, or been found at the end of a putter wrapped around a nearby tree! The point is, they make the clubs we play. In this entry, we want to provide an overview of the designer and his putters that Tour players rely on around the hole as much as anyone’s: Scotty Cameron.
Who Is Scotty Cameron?
Cameron is a maverick designer. As a kid, he began tooling around with his Dad in the garage workshop. They would take their prototype designs out to the links and put them to the test. In his 20’s Scotty began designing putters for prestigious names like Maxfli, Cleveland Golf, and Mizuno. In 1992 he and his wife Kathy started Cameron Golf International, and just one year later, Bernhard Langer captured the Master’s using a Cameron design. In 1994, he joined Titleist.
