MacGregor Bobby Grace Face Off Putter Review
Review date: 07/23/09 by: Golf Putter Guide
The MacGregor Bobby Grace Face Off Putter is a very modern putter that has a spot in almost every Golfers bag! The putter comes with two interchangeable faces, each with its own benefits, giving the golfer two putters in one!
One of the MacGregor putter faces is made from titanium for softer balls, the other putter face is a polymer facing for harder golf balls. If you are a serious golfer and truly care about your score at the end of the day then it is an investment that you won't regret.
Who Should Use the MacGregor Face Off Putter?
Given the advanced technology and price of the MacGregor Face Off Putter, amateur golfers may be a little put off by the higher price of the putter. Another key is that the Bobby Grace Face Off has technology that help you avoid miss-hits when you hit the ball off center. An amateur golfer may not need this kind of accuracy just to have some fun.A professional golfer will benefit the most from this putter. The best thing about the MacGregor Face Off Putter is it is basically two putters in one. Both "faces" give different feels and can be quickly switched. It also allows for a little extra room in your golf bag and little less weight.

MacGregor Face Off Putter Details
Bobby Grace Face-Off DCT
putters deliver a unique combination of two new and innovative
technologies to the putter category. Face-Off technology allow golfers
to easily change the face of their putter from a softer yet responsive
Polymer DCT (black color) to the firmer and more responsive Titanium
DCT (natural Titanium color). This allows the golfer to adapt for
personal preference in feel and sound, ball type (harder or softer) or
green conditions (slower or faster). Each Face-Off DCT putter model
comes standard with a face-changing kit that includes the second
face-plate and an easy to use face-changing tool.
DCT stands for
"Distance Control Technology" and it is a first to market game
improvement feature in all new Bobby Grace Putters. DCT is engineered
to eliminate energy loss on off center ball contact. On a typical miss
hit, 10 to 20% energy loss can occur to have a negative impact on the
ball's carry distance and alignment control. In other words, a 40 foot
miss hit putt will end up 4 to 6 feet short of the cup. With DCT,
energy loss (and therefore distance loss) is virtually eliminated.
Longer putts will feel like a tap-in instead of 5 footers. All Face-Off
DCT Putters also have incremental weight ports on the bottom of each
putter to enhance heel/toe balancing and increase the MOI for each
design.
